Type: Part Time, Hourly
Reports to: Owner
You are a self-starter, a hard worker, and able to make every person feel like a friend or family member when they enter the brewery.
We have a lot of fun at Stray Dog Brewing Company, and we’ve created a pretty special vibe. Without question, you see yourself as a self-motivated worker, with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
Every shift, you are contributing to the production and development of our beer and ability to service the Ottawa region. It’s not always going to be pretty, but it sure beats the hell out of staring at a computer all day. You’ll be assisting the head brewer with various stages of production, cleaning and filling kegs, canning and labelling, managing inventory, delivering cases and kegs around the Ottawa region, and more. Basically, you are a Swiss Army knife of epic proportions!
What you’ll be responsible for:
Assisting the head brewer with production activities including: milling grain, clearing out mash from the boiler kettle, washing and sanitizing kegs, assisting with the brewing activities when required
Working with our production team on our canning line and assist with can labelling
Keeping all brew room areas clean: sweeping, mopping, organizing stock, washing and sanitizing materials
Delivering kegs and cases of beers to clients around the Ottawa region
Maintaining positive working relationships with our clients, suppliers, partners, and team
Key traits
A passion for people, craft beer, and making your community the best place to be
Driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to lift 100lb+
Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
Friendly, outgoing, and have a positive attitude
Qualifications
Knowledge of beer, the brewing process and beer styles is not mandatory but must be willing to learn
Excellent communicator, personable, warm and friendly
Positive attitude and a team player
Ability to work flexible and occasionally long hours
Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 100lbs
