Ethan Mitchell (Nix and Lightsmith) is bringing his solo show to the taproom with special guest Dalton Carew.
Ethan is a folk musician who calls Ottawa his home. He writes silly little songs to help get things off his chest, and he loves sharing his music with friends, family, and the occasional stranger. He writes about cowboys, Canada, country folk, city folk, lonesome folk, and friendly folk. He gave up the cello to sing and play guitar, setting stories to song and every now and again yodelaying a couple hee-hoos.
Dalton Carew is an emerging folk singer and songwriter based in Ottawa. Never quite feeling grounded in his whereabouts, he's wrestled with his divided heritage. Between his hometown out West, his roots in the Maritimes, and his upbringing all throughout Southern Ontario, he's found traditional folk music to be his silver lining in reconciling his family ties.
Equipped with the timbre of a couple of truly old-time guitars, you can expect tranquil ballads, hard-nosed songs, and an assortment of folk tales dressed in the fabric of picturesque poetry, all sung with the spirited and powerful tenor voice he calls his own
